ABOUT Festival:
Holi is one of the important festivals in India. It is popularly known as a “Festival of colours” is a major publicly celebrated festival. Indians welcome the beginning of spring with bonfires and smearing different colours on the body (Each colour representing a meaning – Red symbolizes love and fertility; yellow is the colour of turmeric representing auspiciousness, turmeric is a most powerful natural remedy; blue represents the Hindu God Krishna, and green is for new beginnings.). Another reason to celebrate Holi festival is to spread love and the triumph of good over evil. As usual in India people prepare sweets, savouries and special food, meet friends and relatives, smear colour on face and clothes, offer them sweets. It is a national holiday in India. This year, 2019 March 21st is the actual date on which Holi Festival is celebrated in India.
